The municipality of Caminha will proceed with the installation of video surveillance in the historic center of the town to reinforce security in the area. The decision comes as a result of acts of vandalism that have been occurring in the region.
On the early morning of August 20, the planters on Visconde de Sousa Rego street, in the center of Caminha, were vandalized. The flowers that decorated these containers were torn out, causing damage to the public space.
This vandalism involving planters was not an isolated case, with a similar situation having occurred in the city of Viana do Castelo.
