Second semester concentrates electronics purchases

With the arrival of the second half of the year, the Brazilian commercial calendar approaches some of the main consumer dates of the year. Father's Day, Children's Day, Black Friday, and Christmas form a sequence that influences consumer planning and can anticipate purchase decisions that, in other periods, would be postponed. This behavior becomes even more evident in higher-value product purchases.

A recent survey presented by Google shows that 48% of Brazilian consumers already have a shopping list prepared before the official start of Black Friday, while 44% research prices and conditions in advance. For 60% of respondents, the date is the main opportunity of the year to plan the purchase of higher-value items.

Among the categories that appear in consumer priorities for Black Friday are home appliances, cell phones, computers, peripherals, and televisions. The survey data indicates that the proximity of major commercial dates can pull consumers out of a waiting state and motivate them to complete purchases they had postponed.

The Justice of Goiás suspended two auctions of rural properties less than 48 hours before their scheduled date, following action conducted by the MPPL law firm. The decision, made by the Civil Court of Petrolina de Goiás, preliminarily identified elements that question the validity of the default used to justify the early maturity of a credit operation contracted with Sicoob Unicentro Norte Brasileiro. The case highlights a broader issue about the limits of financial institutions' rights over properties given as collateral when there are uncertainties about the default that grounded the execution.
