Plug-in hybrid vehicles are emitting much more CO2 than the figures announced by manufacturers. According to a new study, the real emissions of these vehicles are 4.6 times higher than the official values resulting from type-approval tests.
This means that plug-in hybrids are failing the climate promise they made to consumers. The standard tests do not reflect the reality of these vehicles' consumption in everyday use, leading to a significant underestimation of their carbon footprint.
