Senator and presidential candidate, Bolsonaro (PL), accused Supreme Court (STF) minister Alexandre de Moraes of using the investigation against fellow minister André Mendonça as a self-protection maneuver that would also target Senate President Davi Alcolumbre. The accusation was made by the senator through social media, where he shared a screenshot of a report by journalist Malu Gaspar from the newspaper O Globo.
The report cited by Bolsonaro addresses that Moraes and Alcolumbre met for three hours before moving against Mendonça in the fake news inquiry. The meeting took place at the Senate president's residence on Wednesday, the 2nd. Following this, Davi Alcolumbre defended Alexandre de Moraes on the Senate floor, pushing back against opposition pressure to schedule the minister's impeachment.
Flávio Bolsonaro also criticized what would be maneuvers against himself and questioned Moraes' use of a Federal Police dossier that, according to the senator, has no legal value whatsoever. Alcolumbre, in defending Moraes in the Senate, redirected the focus to Bolsonaro, referencing audio recordings in which the senator appears.
