The PL candidate for President, Flavío Bolsonaro, accused the president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre, of protecting Minister Alexandre de Moraes, from the Supreme Court (STF). The accusation was made during a campaign event in São Carlos, in the interior of São Paulo. According to Flavío, Alcolumbre would be prioritizing the protection of an ally instead of defending the institution.
The criticism comes amid pressure from part of the senators for the analysis of the impeachment requests against Moraes. Alcolumbre has the prerogative to decide whether or not to put the theme to a vote in the Senate. Recently, when commenting on the requests against the minister, he cited the demands made by Flavío Bolsonaro to former banker Daniel Vorcaro for the financing of the film Dark Horse.
Flavío and Governor Tarcísio de Freitas, from Republicanos, a candidate for re-election, participated this Friday (4) in the first street event together in this campaign. The two arrived in São Carlos in different cars and held an event in the central square of the city. During the event, Tarcísio also criticized the STF, marking the first joint event of the two politicians in this electoral race.
