Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today proposed to Russia the suspension of aerial attacks during the visit of United States envoys to Moscow and Kiev. The visit is scheduled to take place over the weekend to resume negotiations on the conflict.
According to international agencies, Zelensky stated that there will be no aerial attacks from Ukraine, and that Russia must reciprocally guarantee a ceasefire without its own attacks for the time necessary to conduct these negotiations.
The American envoys, whose visit is scheduled to take place shortly, aim to mediate the peace process between Ukraine and Russia, at a time when hostilities continue.
Zelensky's proposal comes as a gesture of goodwill to facilitate dialogue between the two parties, although Russia's position regarding this initiative is not yet known.
