Action, the direct competitor of Primark, opened two new stores in Portugal, in Alcobaça and Covilhã, bringing the number of spaces the chain has in the country to 33. The openings took place on August 27, forming part of a particularly busy month for the retailer, which added four new openings in the national territory alone in August.

The Alcobaça store is located on Estrada Nacional 8, in Ponte do Jardim, occupying an area of 897 square meters with 15 employees. In Covilhã, the unit is on Alameda Pêro da Covilhã, with 866 square meters and 16 employees. Both spaces operate daily between 9am and 9pm.

Action's concept is based on the combination of variety and low prices, offering around 6,000 products distributed across 14 categories, including home items, toys, gardening, DIY and food. Around 150 items arrive in stores every week, and the average price of products is under €2.

The company began operating in 1993, in the Netherlands, and currently has more than 3,000 stores distributed across 15 European countries. Its arrival in Portugal occurred just over two years ago. Sofia Mendoça, the general director of Action in Portugal, expressed satisfaction with the new openings in these two cities.
