Mayor Ricardo Nunes defended on Friday (4) the construction of a restaurant at Trianon Park, on Paulista Avenue, in São Paulo. The construction was halted indefinitely after a recommendation from the Public Ministry. Nunes stated that the project went through all control agencies and that the tree cutting in the park will have environmental compensation. The mayor declared that "remove four trees, plant 40" as part of the necessary compensation.
Nunes spoke with journalists at the opening of the 28th São Paulo International Book Biennial, at Anhembi District, in the North Zone of the capital. He defended that all City Hall actions comply 100% with legislation and that the questions about the work cause delays in the city's investments. The mayor suggested that the Public Ministry should follow the works from the beginning, instead of intervening later.
