The National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection is analysing the performance in fighting the fire that broke out in the Douro region, affecting the municipalities of Torre de Moncorvo and Carrazeda de Ansiães. The fire consumed approximately 3,600 hectares of land.
The analysis comes following complaints filed by residents of the affected areas, who reported failures in the firefighting operation. Local inhabitants criticised the authorities' response to the fire.
The fire had a significant impact on the Douro region, an area known for its agricultural and wine-producing importance. Civil Protection has not yet released any conclusions regarding the alleged failures pointed out by the residents.
