On Sunday, September 6th, Sul Beach Pôr do Sol in Vila do Conde hosted the "Parliament on the Beach" initiative, organized by the Liberal Initiative nuclei of Vale do Ave. The event brought together liberal deputies Carlos Guimarães Pinto and Miguel Rangel, elected for the Porto constituency, for an open conversation with the local community scheduled for 6:30 PM.
The initiative aimed to bring politics closer to people's daily lives, taking place without a stage or formalities. Filipe Carneiro, coordinator of the Liberal nucleus of Vila do Conde, emphasized that bringing two deputies for a direct conversation, without filters and outdoors, was the best way to establish this proximity.
The gathering marked the sixth edition of DestrAve, the annual event that brings together liberals from the Porto and Braga districts. This year, the traditional hiking format was abandoned, transforming into a relaxed conversation by the sea. António Teixeira, from the Póvoa de Varzim nucleus, stated that DestrAve is the moment when liberals from Vale do Ave come together, this year in a more open manner and closer to whoever wants to listen.
Entry was free and no registration was required, with the event intended to gather sympathizers, curious people, and all those who enjoy politics, regardless of party affiliation.
