The councilors elected by the PSD to the municipality of Machico presented, during a council meeting held this week, a proposal for the urgent evaluation of the partial, exceptional and temporary suspension of the Municipal Master Plan (PDM) of the municipality. The main objective of this proposal is to unblock housing projects that are currently blocked and boost investment in the territory.
The initiative also aims to safeguard emerging investments in the municipality and create conditions for more effective and sustainable economic and tourism development in the council of Machico. The social-democratic local officials consider that the measure is necessary to adapt the territorial management instrument to the current reality of the municipality.
The proposal was presented in the context of a need to flexibilize territorial planning instruments, in order to respond to the demands of housing construction and the promotion of economic activity in the region.
