CDS-PP considers that the autonomy of the Azores was worth it. This position was expressed by the party's deputy in the Azores parliament, Pedro Pinto, during a speech on the topic of regional autonomy.
Pedro Pinto recognized that there are still problems to solve in the autonomous region, but highlighted that there is work done that justifies optimism regarding the future. According to the deputy, there are reasons for hope regarding the development and governance of the Azores.
The intervention of the CDS-PP deputy comes in the context of a debate on the autonomy of the Azores, an area that has enjoyed political and administrative autonomy status within Portugal since 1976.
