The Vortex Hybrid Games return to Portimão Arena on September 19th, about three months after the first edition held in the city. Approximately 1,250 athletes are expected at this hybrid fitness competition that combines running, strength, endurance and functional exercises. The event will consist of seven functional stations interspersed with running routes and will end with a 200-meter sprint, featuring individual, pairs and relay categories.
The competition stands out for the possibility of participation by athletes with different fitness levels, including children from 8 years old, who can compete individually or in pairs. A family registration option is also planned for the youngest participants. The Vortex Hybrid Games were pioneering in Portugal in creating a hybrid competition with specific categories for children.
The first edition in Portimão, held in June, brought together 890 athletes, 137% more than the 375 participants from a previous event in Lagos. The organization estimates a participation between 1,250 and 1,500 athletes for the September edition, at an event that should mobilize around two thousand spectators. The Vortex community currently integrates a permanent network of more than 36 partner gyms in the Algarve and other regions.
The Municipality of Portimão is associating with the initiative, which aims to promote healthy lifestyles, team spirit and regular physical exercise. Registrations remain open on the online platform, with tickets available for 4.98 euros and free entry for children under 13 years old. After the Portimão stage, two more events are planned until the end of the year: one in Albufeira on October 25th, and another in Vila Real de Santo António on December 12th.
