The Loures City Council will distribute 20 thousand bracelets that allow the detection of substances that can be administered to people without their knowledge, particularly in nightlife entertainment contexts.
These bracelets are Celentis, a device that identifies the GHB substance, commonly known as the "G drug" or "rape drug", which can be introduced into drinks without the victim noticing.
This initiative comes within the scope of a prevention and protection program for young people and citizens who frequent nighttime leisure spaces, seeking to reduce the risks associated with the involuntary consumption of this substance.
The Loures municipality thus positions itself as one of the first city councils in Portugal to adopt this type of preventive technology to protect the population from the dangers associated with this drug.
