SC Espinho wants to return to being a reference in national youth development

SC Espinho starts the new season with around 140 athletes and the intention to continue increasing the size of its youth development. The club's goal is to reach 180 or 200 practitioners, in a project that once again features all categories between under-6 and under-18, both male and female, as well as Masters.

The reopening of the under-18 category is one of the novelties for 2026/2027. This decision brings the youth development closer to one of the main objectives of the section: to once again have senior teams.

With no fixed date yet, coordinator Hugo Valente points to a medium-term horizon to achieve this objective. According to the responsible party, the main issue is athletes reaching the necessary maturity to join senior teams.
