The 5th Panel of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) unanimously rejected, on Wednesday (2), the appeal that requested the return of Alexandre Nardoni and Anna Carolina Jatobá to closed regime. The trial was held in a virtual session, started last Thursday (27). The couple had been convicted for the murder of Isabella Nardoni, in 2008, and currently serves their sentence in open regime.
The appeal was filed by the LGBTQIAPN+ Pride Association of São Paulo, which stated, in a note, that it will appeal the decision. However, the STJ rejected the appeal because the association that filed the request did not pay the court fees required by the Court. Without payment of these fees, the appeal could not proceed.
On social media, Isabella Nardoni's mother reacted to the maintenance of the couple's open regime, writing: "Unpunished once again". The article also mentions that a state deputy appears next, but the text was cut off before completing the information.
