In the commemorative session of the 50 years of the Azores Assembly, the Left Block Party (BE) was present through one of its deputies, who took the occasion to reflect on the path of Azorean autonomy.
BE defended that autonomy built bridges between the islands of the archipelago, highlighting the role that this conquest had in connecting the different islands that make up the Azores.
However, the party considered that there is still a long way to go to achieve full democracy in the Azores, warning that the path taken was not sufficient to guarantee all the desired democratic rights and participation.
BE also criticized the central government, evidencing the party's position against what it considers to be insufficient decentralization and real autonomy for the autonomous region of the Azores.
