The government increased by 3 cents the discount applied to diesel and gasoline, a measure that aims to mitigate the impact of the price escalation in fuels.
The decision comes in response to predictions indicating a new surge in fuel prices already next week.
According to the same predictions, diesel is preparing to reach a new all-time high, which justifies the reinforcement of government intervention.
The executive justifies this increase in the discount with the need to protect consumers facing the continued rise in prices in the international market.
