The Judicial Police detained an 80-year-old woman, resident in the parish of Ribas, in the municipality of Celorico de Basto, as the suspected perpetrator of three wildfires. The detention was carried out outside of flagrante delicto.
The three fires occurred on August 16, 17, and 18, in a sequence of blazes set with direct flame in locations with favorable conditions for the spread of flames.
The woman was identified and detained by the PJ, which carried out the investigation to determine the circumstances of the fires. The case was referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office.
