Wine growers in the Douro who cannot sell their grapes will receive state support worth 12 million euros. The measure was announced by the government as an emergency solution to address the crisis affecting the Portuguese wine region.

The executive classifies this intervention as "one-off," acknowledging that it does not solve the problem definitively. The government has also left the promise of a "structural" solution to the crisis affecting the sector.

The structural solution will involve creating a permanent fund for the wine sector. This fund aims to be a lasting response to prevent similar situations in the future.

The Douro region, one of the most important wine-producing areas in Portugal, is facing significant difficulties in marketing its production, leading the government to intervene with support measures for producers.
