The Municipal Library Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, in Loulé, promotes throughout the month of September a diversified program of cultural activities aimed at all ages, which includes exhibitions, poetry sessions, book presentations and thematic discussion groups.
Until September 30th, the exhibition "Singularities" by Alberto Rebelo is on display, composed of drawings in dry and oil pastel on Canson paper, based on the book "Alice… and other Singularities". This exhibition can be viewed in the library's entrance hall, and on the 18th at 6:30 PM there will be a "Open Books" session with the presentation of this work by Nídia Guerreiro.
The program also includes the project "Poetry at the End of the Day" with Cátia Guerreiro as guest, and the return of the Loulé Reading Club on the 30th, which will discuss the work "Love in the Time of Cholera" by Gabriel García Márquez. From the 14th to the 30th, UNIR – Association of Mental Health Patients, Families and Friends of the Algarve promotes the exhibition "Reading for All: Transforming Challenges into Achievements" with works developed by adults from the institution.
At the Almancil branch, on the 11th at 6 PM, there will be a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the novel "Grande Sertão: Veredas" by João Guimarães Rosa, in a partnership with the University of Algarve, Municipality of Montemor-o-Novo and Casa Fernando Pessoa. In Quarteira, sessions of the Writing Club are planned, a "Poetry Evening" with Emília Maria Correia, Fernanda Miranda and Maria Alberta Gonçalves on the 18th, a discussion group on Vaccination and the Immune System on the 25th, and the Quarteira Reading Club discussing "The Invisible People" by José Carlos Barros on the 29th.
