Rui Borges considered that Pedro Gonçalves and Daniel Bragança "marked an era" and are "in Sporting's history," after the farewell of the two players from the lion club. Pedro Gonçalves went to Fiorentina, while Daniel Bragança moved to Torino, both clubs from Italy's Serie A.
The two players left Alvalade after a successful career at Sporting. In the last five seasons, they won three championships, a Portuguese Cup, a League Cup, and a Portuguese Super Cup.
According to the coach himself, the players felt the need to "seek new challenges," which motivated their transfers to Italian football. Rui Borges wished them luck in their new professional stages.
