COP31. Least Developed Countries with clear political line

Observador4 September 2026 at 14:47

The Least Developed Countries Group concluded this Friday a meeting to establish its political priorities. The main objective was to define the position that this group of countries will present during COP31.

COP31 will be held in Turkey, between November 9 and 20. This event represents an opportunity for the least developed countries to present their claims within the framework of global climate negotiations.

The group of least developed countries is composed of nations that face particularly severe economic and environmental challenges related to climate change. The meeting allowed the coordination of positions before the major environmental summit.

The priorities defined during this meeting will guide the actions of these countries during COP31, influencing discussions on climate financing, adaptation, and mitigation in developing countries.
