Flixbus has returned to court to guarantee access to the Sete Rios station in Lisbon. This time, the company filed an enforcement action against Rede Expressos, attempting to force this carrier to comply with a court ruling issued in March.
The conflict between the two companies concerns access to the Sete Rios infrastructure, one of the main bus terminals in the Portuguese capital. The dispute arises in a context of competition between passenger road transport operators.
An enforcement action is a legal mechanism aimed at forcing compliance with a court decision already issued, when one of the parties refuses to abide by what was determined by the court. By choosing this route, Flixbus demonstrates that it did not obtain satisfaction through voluntary compliance with the ruling by Rede Expressos.
This is not the first time Flixbus has turned to the judicial system to resolve this issue, which highlights the persistence of the litigation between the two transport operators and the complexity involved in resolving the dispute regarding access to the Sete Rios station.
