The Polytechnic University of Beja will launch, in the academic year 2026/2027, a Higher Technical Professional Course in Border Tourism and Eurocity, developed in partnership with Turismo de Portugal. The training will be taught at the Hotel School of Vila Real de Santo António.
The course will take as reference the cross-border territory of the Eurocity Guadiana, covering the Algarve municipalities of Alcoutim, Castro Marim, Vila Real de Santo António and Tavira, as well as Barrancos, Serpa, Mértola and Moura, in the district of Beja.
UPBeja justified the partnership with Turismo de Portugal as fundamental to provide a training framework directly related to one of the main economic activities of the Algarve region.
According to the university, the course represents a commitment to bringing higher education closer to the needs of the territory and to qualifying specialized professionals in border tourism and in eurocity contexts, contributing to the enhancement and development of the region where tourism and cooperation between Portugal and Spain are of strategic importance.
