The Center for Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan organized an international forum dedicated to combating misconceptions about Islam. The event aimed to promote a more accurate understanding of the Islamic religion and counter distorted narratives that frequently circulate in global media.
The forum brought together 300 participants from 50 different countries, demonstrating the international reach of the initiative. Among the topics discussed was the question of media independence and its role in the correct representation of Muslim communities.
European coverage of Central Asia was another topic highlighted in the discussions. Participants explored ways to increase European involvement in the region, promoting more balanced and informed media coverage.
The event highlighted the importance of knowledge and communication as tools to combat stereotypes and misunderstandings about Islam, advocating an approach based on accurate information and intercultural dialogue.
