The school calendar for the 2026/2027 school year in the Municipality of Torres Vedras is already defined, resulting from an agreement between the Municipality of Torres Vedras and the School Clusters Henriques Nogueira, Madeira Torres, Padre Vítor Melícias, São Gonçalo, as well as Externato de Penafirme.
In public schools, the school year begins on September 11, 2026, while Externato de Penafirme starts one day earlier, on September 10. The calendar follows the guidelines of the Ministry of Education Order, maintaining a local specificity: the organization into two semesters, instead of the traditional three terms. Due to the extraordinary exam season, the start of classes for Secondary Education is scheduled for September 21.
The semestral model has been highlighted by the clusters as an advantage for pedagogical organization and management of school breaks, allowing greater continuity in the work developed with students.
The school year ends on different dates depending on the education level: grades 9, 11, and 12 end on June 4, 2027; grades 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 on June 11; and pre-school, primary education, and vocational courses on June 30.
