The president of the Regional Government of the Azores, José Manuel Bolieiro, defended that the next stage of autonomy involves strengthening the unity of the archipelago and establishing the Azores as an innovative, sustainable, and relevant region in the Atlantic. The statements were made today.
Bolieiro represents a governing coalition made up of PSD, CDS-PP, and PPM. The official highlighted that autonomy, which was born to respond to the needs of the Azoreans, should now help further enhance the region's capabilities.
