The national president of the Brazilian Bar Association, Beto Simonetti, will meet next week with the president of the Supreme Federal Court, Minister Edson Fachin, to discuss the crisis that has erupted at the Court. The meeting is scheduled for September 9 and is also expected to include the participation of the presidents of the 27 OAB state sections.
According to OAB sources, the entity will advocate for a rigorous investigation into the case involving Banco Master and demand further examination of the facts, regardless of who is involved. The Order is also expected to defend respect for due process, the right to full defense, and the presumption of innocence.
The OAB representatives are expected to hear from Fachin what measures are being adopted in light of the case. The state section presidents will also have an opportunity to present their positions and concerns to the president of the Supreme Court.
The meeting was requested by the president of the National OAB himself, in a phone conversation with Fachin.
