Storm Kristin hit Portugal with intense force, causing significant damage to the country's road infrastructure. Since April, the Portuguese army has been present on the ground to support response operations to the effects of the storms.
The military has managed to clear and clean 808 kilometres of roads, an ongoing effort that has been underway for several months. This operation involves opening and cleaning the roads affected by adverse weather conditions.
The work of the Armed Forces is being followed by Diário de Notícias, which reports on the efforts to restore accessibility in the areas most affected by the bad weather that has plagued the country in recent months.
