'It is an inference that borders on the ridiculous,' Tarcisio says about Vorcaro's plea deal that points to bribes in 2022 donations

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos), reacted to a plea deal proposal by former banker Daniel Vorcaro, classifying as "an inference bordering on the ridiculous" the accusations that R$5 million donated to his and Jair Bolsonaro's 2022 campaigns were counterparties of an alleged bribe agreement with Gilberto Kassab, national president of the PSD.

According to Vorcaro's account, R$2 million went to Tarcísio's campaign and R$3 million to Bolsonaro's. The donations were officially made by Fabiano Zettel, the former banker's brother-in-law and a suspect in Operation Compliance Zero.

Vorcaro stated that the payments were related to maintaining an alleged agreement, according to information revealed by UOL. The plea deal proposal, however, was rejected by the Federal Police.
