The Ministry of Environment and Energy received on Friday the Mayor of Viseu City Hall for a meeting dedicated to sustainability and water security issues of the municipality. The encounter aimed to analyze different problems affecting the territory and find solutions to improve local conditions.
During the meeting, two priority projects for the municipality were addressed. The first concerns the renaturalization of the Pavia River, a watercourse that crosses the region and needs interventions to recover its natural and ecological characteristics.
The second project under discussion was the modernization of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Viseu. The updating of this infrastructure is considered essential to improve effluent treatment and guarantee better environmental quality in the municipality.
These initiatives are part of a broader strategy for sustainable development for the Viseu district, seeking to reconcile environmental protection with the needs of the local population through solutions that aim to improve the water and environmental conditions of the region.
