The Jewish Federation of Brazil launched on Wednesday (1) the project "Decoding Antisemitism," an initiative aimed at identifying and confronting anti-Jewish hate speech in the country. The action includes an atlas and a platform to map antisemitic manifestations.

According to the 2025 Annual Report on Antisemitism in Brazil, there was a 149% increase in antisemitism records compared to 2022, when 397 cases were recorded. The survey indicates that 80.9% of recorded occurrences happened on digital platforms.

The monitoring identified 115,970 mentions classified as antisemitic, with potential reach estimated at 66 million people. The concentration of cases in the digital environment was one of the factors that motivated the creation of the new project by the entity.

The Jewish Federation of Brazil argues that the tool is necessary given the scenario of growth in anti-Jewish hate speech, and seeks to offer resources to identify and combat these manifestations in different spaces.

Former American Governor Arrested After Refusing to Pay Child Support

The former governor of Kentucky, Matthew Bevin, 59 years old, was arrested on Thursday after refusing to pay child support to his son, Jonah Bevin. The Republican, who governed the American state between 2015 and 2019, disobeyed court orders and was detained on a film set after Judge Angela J. Johnson issued a warrant. The magistrate from Jefferson County Family Court had ordered Bevin to submit documents detailing his income and assets to determine the child support amount, but the politician had been repeatedly ignoring the demands since 2025. According to the son's lawyer, Bevin sent only partial documents with essential information omitted, which was not accepted by the judge.
