Puerto de la Cruz concluded on Sunday the 53rd edition of its Bavarian Week, an event that took place from August 23 to 30 on the Explanada del Muelle and reinforced the historical ties between the Canarian town and Germany. During a week, the city was transformed into a vibrant center of German music, gastronomy, and culture, culminating with three intense days of Oktoberfest.
Music was one of the central axes of the event, with the performance of the Reinheitsgebot Orchestra, coming directly from Germany, which accompanied various activities throughout the week, including the inaugural concert at Lago Martiánez. Gastronomy also played a fundamental role, with the arrival of Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier, beer specially crafted for the event by one of the authorized breweries in Munich.
The last day of the event was marked by a family focus, with Children's Oktoberfest, which offered various activities for children and young people, as well as Dogtoberfest, which allowed participants to enjoy the celebration alongside their pets. The event also maintained a charitable aspect, with raffles whose proceeds were destined for the Canarian Foundation José Luis Montesinos and animal welfare organizations.
With more than five decades of history, this edition of Bavarian Week highlighted the collaborative work of institutions, sponsors, and the local community. The success was reflected in the liveliness of the streets and public participation, reaffirming Puerto de la Cruz as a cultural meeting point between the Canary Islands and Germany.
