The director of the Convent of Christ expects the cloisters intervened by the PRR to be available already in September, while the Terreiro de Armas should open to the public in October. The reopening of these spaces to the public is planned for still this month.
The intervention project at the Convent of Christ, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, was subject to reformulation. The president of Cultural Heritage indicated that the changes to the project were made with the objective of safeguarding the monument.
The interventions aim to recover and open to the public these important areas of the Convent of Christ, classified as UNESCO World Heritage, which constitutes one of the main historical and cultural landmarks of Portugal.
