Eurostat revealed that one in six people (16.3%) over 18 years old in the European Union was obese in 2025. This data represents a significant proportion of the adult population of the community bloc.
Furthermore, more than half of the EU population was overweight during the same period, indicating that obesity and being overweight are widely spread public health issues throughout the European territory.
The numbers were published today by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, which collects and analyzes data about the member states of the bloc.
