Filipa Leal is a Portuguese writer, poet, journalist, and author who finished primary school already imagining herself as a writer. She studied in London and throughout her career has dedicated herself to writing short stories, film scripts, and plays, having published 16 books.
On television, Filipa Leal presented several literature programs on RTP, including "Nothing Like Dante" and "The Small Library." Her poetry is characterized by the presence of two contrasting sides: humor and fine irony, on one hand, and shadow, on the other.
The author mentions that, curiously, humor entered her poetry as life started to hurt her. This new poetry book, titled "Love Arrives Soon in a Volkswagen," is published by Assírio & Alvim and is scheduled for release in October. The conversation was conducted by Bernardo Mendonça.
