The Socialist Party (PS) will not enable the motion of censure presented by Chega against the Government. The guarantee was given by the leader of the socialist parliamentary bench, Eurico Brilhante Dias. This position arises in the context of a set of votes that have placed the PS as the decisive party on legislative matters. Chega's motion of censure is therefore not expected to gather the necessary conditions to advance in parliament. Eurico Brilhante Dias also stated that formal consultation with the party's bodies is still pending for the final definition of the voting direction, which may occur at the next internal meetings of the party. This decision is part of the PS's strategy to maintain an independent position regarding legislative initiatives from both the Government and the opposition.
