Nova Direita demands answers about construction work in Jardim do Mar

dnoticias.pt4 September 2026 at 10:56

Nova Direita Madeira considers that the clarification provided by the company Vigiarte, Lda. about the construction work located on the promenade at Jardim do Mar does not end the controversy and demands more explanations about a project that received public funding. The Madeiran party believes that the population deserves more concrete answers about the situation.

According to the responsible company, the intervention is not abandoned but merely suspended due to ongoing legal disputes. Vigiarte, Lda. thus attempted to clarify that there is a legal justification for the work stoppage, not constituting an actual abandonment.

However, Nova Direita questions the practical difference of this distinction for the local population, given that the work has remained unfinished for several years. The party considers that, regardless of the legal explanation, the result is the same: an infrastructure that was promised but never completed.

The structure in question is located on the promenade at Jardim do Mar, a coastal area in Madeira, and was intended to have received public funding for its execution. Nova Direita continues to press for further clarification about the fate of this investment.
