Alfenense says "together we are stronger"

Jornal Novo Regional4 September 2026 at 10:40

AC Alfenense participates this season in the Division of Honour of AF Porto, series 2, where two other teams from the municipality of Valongo are also present: Campo and Sobrado. Valentim Ribeiro's team, the club's president, will make their debut on the 20th, traveling to face Sobreirense.

The technical team remains unchanged from the previous season, led by coach Mário Campo Grande, with the addition of assistant coach Rafael Amaral. Regarding the squad, Valentim Ribeiro mentions that continuity was prioritized, seeking to retain the players who finished last season and only signing athletes for specific positions that aligned with the club.

The president defines the objectives for the new season as doing their best and representing Alfenense with dignity. Valentim considers series 2 to be the most competitive in the Division of Honour, with several clubs vying for promotion, and states that Alfenense wants to "be up there troubling" the opposition, competing game by game with humility and hard work.

Valentim Ribeiro calls on members and supporters to support not only the first team, but also the youth academy and all sports at the club. The motto "Together we are stronger" should be felt by everyone, as according to the president, "individually we are good but together we are better."
