Chega Youth Madeira accused the Regional Government of not having a "serious strategy" to face the housing crisis in the region. The youth structure considered that house prices are particularly affecting young people and young Madeiran couples.
The youth organization's criticism focuses on what it considers to be the Miguel Albuquerque administration's bet on a real estate model oriented towards luxury and the external market, to the detriment of creating affordable housing for the local population.
According to Chega Youth Madeira's position, more and more young Madeirans who work and contribute to the region face growing difficulties in accessing housing, given the current scenario of prices in the real estate market.
