The Municipality of Mação will promote a meeting with the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF) and the hunting associations of the municipality to find a response to the growing problem of wild boar presence in villages. The municipality seeks to thus stop the situation and minimize the damages caused by these animals.
The mayor of Mação, José Fernando Martins, from PS, was questioned about the localities affected by the presence of wild boar. The mayor responded that the problem covers the entire municipality of Mação, not being limited to one or two specific villages.
The wild boar have caused damages in the villages of the municipality, affecting the local population and their activities. The situation has been worsening, leading the municipal council to seek solutions from the competent entities and the hunters of the region.
