Rock in Rio: authorities launch special operations for festival, which will welcome 100 thousand people per day and changes city's routine

Rock in Rio, which begins this Friday, mobilizes the city with a special transport and logistics scheme. BRT, metro and VLT will operate 24 hours during the event, and the Central do Brasil, Madureira and Deodoro train stations will remain open during the early morning hours. These measures will extend until Tuesday, resuming on the following Friday and continuing until the following Monday.

The expectation is that 100 thousand people will attend Cidade do Rock, in the Southwest Zone, on each of the seven days of the event. The festival attracts both residents of Rio and tourists from other cities and countries, with the neighborhoods of Copacabana and Leme being the most sought-after by visitors during the first weekend.

During the first weekend of the festival, hotels show an average occupancy rate of 77.62%. Additionally, 62 extra flights are scheduled to meet passenger demand during the event.
