Lisbon Stock Exchange opens in the red in line with Europe

The Lisbon Stock Exchange opened the session this Friday, September 4, in negative territory, with a devaluation of 0.30% to 9,373.39 points. The biggest declines on the Portuguese stock exchange were registered by EDP, which fell 0.84% to 4.59 euros, by NOS with a drop of 0.73% to 4.92 euros, and by Banco Comercial Português with a decline of 0.57% to 1.14 euros. Sonae, REN, CTT, EDP Renováveis, Mota-Engil, Galp Energia and Teixeira Duarte were also trading in the red.

In the opposite direction, Ibersol was the company that gained the most, with a rise of 0.98% to 10.30 euros, followed by Jerónimo Martins which advanced 0.50% to 18.10 euros, and by Altri which gained 0.21% to 4.68 euros.

The major European stock exchanges also opened in the red, with the exception of the Dutch stock index. The German DAX fell 0.03% to 25,998.74 points, the French CAC 40 retreated 0.22% to 8,267.82 points, and the British FTSE 100 fell 0.21% to 10,808.98 points. The Dutch AEX was the exception, rising 0.15% to 1,106.31 points.

Regarding the commodities market, oil was trading higher, with brent rising 0.38% to $95.88 and crude gaining 0.37% to $91.64. In the foreign exchange market, the euro was unchanged against the dollar at $1.16262, but fell 0.11% against the pound to 0.85848 pounds.
