Expofacic sends 7 tons of biowaste for recovery

Notícias de Coimbra4 September 2026 at 07:28

The Expofacic sent 7 tons of biowaste for recovery, according to the organization. This quantity results from a waste management work implemented during the event.

The INOVA-EM was the entity responsible for carrying out awareness and training actions among the operators of the food stalls and other gastronomic spaces present at Expofacic. These actions aimed to raise participants' awareness about the correct separation of biowaste.

The training efforts directed at restaurant operators contributed to the significant amount of organic waste that was sent for recovery instead of being deposited in landfill.

The initiative is part of a strategy to promote sustainability and circular economy at large-scale events held in the municipality.

Portugal's (limited) shield against rising interest rates

Portugal managed to reduce its public debt by more than a third over the past six years, which, combined with the fact that only a small portion of the debt is subject to rising interest rates, creates significant protection against higher financing costs. According to the analysis, Portugal's central problem is no longer convincing markets of its fiscal discipline; rather, a different underlying issue is what the country now faces.
