President Lula demanded a reaction from the president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Edson Fachin, to ensure the integrity of the investigations involving the Master case. The demand occurred this Thursday, one day before an event scheduled at the Palace of the Presidency.
Fachin participates this Friday, at 10am, in the signing into law of the bill that creates the Federal Justice Special Fund (Fejufe) and the Special Fund of the Superior Court of Justice (FESTJ). The attorney general, Paulo Gonet, also confirmed his presence at the event.
The crisis at the Supreme Court was triggered after the revelation of new messages exchanged between banker Daniel Vorcaro and Minister Alexandre de Moraes. The case rapporteur, André Mendonça, made the contacts public, increasing the tension between the ministers.
Given the situation, Fachin opened a procedure to clarify points raised by the Attorney General's Office (PGR) in the conduct of the investigation of the Master case. The meeting between Lula and Fachin occurs amid the crisis between ministers Alexandre de Moraes and André Mendonça.
