The North American multinational SRAM expects to create 530 new jobs in Coimbra, representing an investment of 57 million euros. The company, specialized in the production of components for bicycles, received state support of 30% to carry out this project.
With this expansion, SRAM intends to produce in Portugal all the components needed to equip a bicycle from scratch, from the smallest elements to the most complex ones. This is a project aimed at strengthening the company's production capacity in the country.
The Coimbra unit will thus become a complete factory for bicycle components, allowing SRAM to have full control over the entire production chain. This decision positions Portugal as a strategic hub for the company in the sustainable mobility sector.
