The State Government of Rio de Janeiro and the Ministry of Justice and Public Security signed, on Thursday, two Technical Cooperation Agreements (ACTs) to expand integration between state and federal forces in confronting organized crime. The initiative targets different fronts: territory recovery, protection of strategic corridors, and strengthening permanent state presence in areas under the influence of criminal organizations.
The partnership includes information sharing, territorial intelligence, operational support, and technology integration, as well as initiatives aimed at weakening the financial and asset structures used by organized crime.
According to the government, public security is an essential service to the population and requires cooperation among all institutions. The partnership between the State and the Union seeks to unite efforts to combat the war between criminal factions that dispute control of territories in the state capital and other regions of the state.
