The European Commission dismissed the immediate risk for gas supply in the European Union, despite reserves being lower than usual. The information was conveyed in a context of concern about energy storage levels on the continent.
Portugal stands out as one of the EU countries with the highest gas reserves, presenting a storage level of 93.08%, significantly above the European average.
During the same period, the European Union as a whole had gas reserves filled at only 65.85%, a value that raised concerns but which, according to Brussels, does not represent an immediate threat to supply.
The data mentioned in the article was collected on Wednesday and has as its source Gas Infrastructure Europe, the body that monitors gas infrastructure in Europe.
