extra3 September 2026 at 20:39

Users reported instabilities in ChatGPT early Thursday afternoon. The Downdetector portal registered approximately ten thousand complaints from OpenAI chatbot users around noon.

OpenAI confirmed the instability on the chatbot's status page and reported that it was working on measures to mitigate the problems. The instability also affected Codex, the company's tool focused on programming code.

Users complained on social media about service failures during the period of unavailability.

At 2 PM, Brasília time, OpenAI announced that the problem had been resolved and the service was functioning normally again.
